Apple’s app store customers hacked

Apple reported today that an app developer in its iTunes store fraudulently charged credit cards of over 400 of its customers.

The surprising thing is that instead of refunding the money to customers, as all retailers do, Apple has asked customers to contact their credit card companies for charge backs. Although customer’s will get a refund but this will require spending considerable time with credit card companies to get a refund for $2.99, which is an average price of an app.

Apple should learn from the mistakes of others and be more sensitive to customer service issues. Success breeds arrogance and arrogance is the first sign of an impending down fall.
